Lee W. Johnson

April 20, 1934 - August 20, 2025

Welcome to the Lee Johnson Legacy Website

It is with great honor and joy that we share Lee’s legacy with you. In his later years, Lee did not feel the need for a traditional funeral. However, he had prepared meaningful words earlier on in his life that we felt led to share. To read and hear these words,  please scroll below and click on the links.  There is also a place to add a comment or memory about Lee if you would like.

Lee's faith in Jesus became the foundation and purpose of his life, leading him to build authentic relationships with everyone he encountered.   His assurance in his Lord Jesus Christ led him to live with confidence and die in peace.

Our family loved Lee (aka Dad, Papa, Great Papa), and we are grateful for his unconditional love he offered to each of us.  Although we are heartbroken and miss him dearly, we will hold him in our hearts forever..

May you be blessed and encouraged as you read the story that God wrote in Lee’s life.

with love,

Papa’s Farewell Message

Lee carefully thought through a farewell message that he wanted shared with his friends and family. Just like everything in his life, Lee put immense thought and love into these words and wanted us to share them with those he loved.

Lee’s Testimony

While we were in Lee’s office, we found this document from April of 1978 that was carefully recorded on a typewriter by his beloved mother, Lillian. It details the story of his commitment to following Jesus along with reflections of his life up to that point.
